1. Novel Technologies for Prevention, Detection, Assessment and Management of Animal Health and Welfare
We are very interested in using eDNA and eRNA as a monitoring tool in the fish aquaculture industry. We already have some experience within this field but would like to further develop and fine tune our methods and technologies to better monitor disease causing organisms and fish health. We are also interested in applying on site tools for this.
The University of Copenhagen is the largest university in Denmark. My group at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen works with fish as model organisms (primarily rainbow trout and zebrafish) as well as the aquaculture industry. We focus on immunology, disease, development of surveillance tools for the aquaculture industry, microbiome, host-parasite relationships and much more.
