2. Fundamental Research for Animal Health and Welfare
One of the great strengths of the IFREMER/PHYTNESS-LEMAR-PANORAMA team lies in the study of the physiological responses of marine organisms to environmental constraints, whether of biotic or abiotic origin. The team strives to understand the effects of factors related to climate change (warming, acidification, hypoxia, nutritional constraints) and/or emerging pollutants on different species present mainly in coastal areas, in a monofactorial or multistress manner.
We have experimental facilities for exposing fish over the short and long term to different factors (biotic and abiotic) and at different life stages.
IREMER is the French national institute for ocean science and technology. Pioneer in ocean science, IFREMER’s cutting-edge research is grounded in sustainable development and open science.
