Van Agricultural Research Institute is preparing a research project within the scope of the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUPAHW) focusing on the relationship between pre-slaughter stress in livestock and its effects on meat quality. The project aims to develop an innovative monitoring and data analysis approach by using thermal cameras, wearable sensors, and digital monitoring technologies to detect physiological and behavioral stress indicators in animals before slaughter. The collected real-time data will be analyzed using advanced data analytics to better understand stress patterns and their impact on meat quality parameters. This study will contribute to improving animal welfare standards, meat quality assessment, and sustainable livestock production systems. We are seeking research institutes, universities, technology developers, data scientists, and industry stakeholders interested in collaborating as partners to develop and implement this multidisciplinary project within the EUPAHW framework.
Van Agricultural Research Institute is a public research organisation conducting research and development (R&D) activities in plant and animal production, with a strong focus on the ecological and socio-economic conditions of Eastern Anatolia.
