We are interested in contributing through the review of existing technologies and the development of tailored sensor‑based solutions for disease prevention, diagnostics, surveillance, and continuous monitoring. My focus is on engineering miniaturized smart sensors and systems that address stakeholder needs, including portable diagnostic tools, devices for pathogen and biomarker surveillance, and smart sample collection and analysis platforms.
SINTEF Digital is one of Scandinavia’s leading research institutes. The SSM department conducts research and development in microsystems and nanotechnology and operates a small‑scale production line for advanced sensor technologies. Our 800 m² cleanroom is certified according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001. We develop and deliver custom-designed sensors -not off‑the‑shelf products - that provide Norwegian and European companies with unique competitive advantages. Our core expertise and capabilities are with sensor chip development - micro‑ and nanofabrication of sensors and microfluidic devices, prototyping in silicon, glass, and polymers, integration and packaging, and a wide range of characterization techniques - which plays a key role in digitalization and the green transition.
