The Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye and serves as the competent regional authority responsible for animal health and welfare, veterinary public health, disease prevention and control, food safety, and sustainable livestock production systems.
Our institution provides extensive field implementation capacity, direct access to livestock production systems, farmers, and relevant stakeholders, as well as established infrastructure for disease surveillance, epidemiological monitoring, data collection, and biosecurity implementation. The Directorate plays an active role in risk assessment, control of infectious and zoonotic diseases, animal welfare monitoring, and the development of sustainable and resilient agricultural practices.
We seek to establish international research and innovation collaborations within the framework of European and transnational programmes, particularly in the areas of animal health, infectious disease prevention and control, veterinary epidemiology, One Health, sustainable livestock systems, and climate-resilient agriculture.
The Directorate can contribute to project consortia as an implementation partner, pilot region, or associated partner by providing field validation, stakeholder engagement, data sharing, dissemination activities, and policy-relevant expertise to support evidence-based decision-making and innovation uptake.
