I am a veterinarian (DVM, 2018) and Scientist at the Research and Development Institute for Bovine BaloteČ™ti, Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences. I completed my PhD in 2024, focusing on the impact of behavioural reactivity (temperament) on production efficiency and welfare in dairy cattle and water buffaloes. My expertise centers on animal welfare assessment using behavioural, physiological, bioacoustic, and precision livestock farming tools. I work in close collaboration with farmers and dairy producers, ensuring that research outcomes are practical, scalable, and adapted to real production systems. I am actively involved in multiple national and European RDI projects, contributing to research on positive animal welfare, heat stress resilience, genomic selection for robustness, cow–calf contact systems, and sustainable dairy transition. I have experience working in international consortia and interdisciplinary teams integrating animal science, precision technologies and data analysis (Horizon Europe and COST Action projects). I am open to collaboration within any idea of projects focused on animal welfare.
The Research and Development Institute for Bovine Balotești (RDIB) is a state-owned research facility coordinated by the Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences. The animal welfare group is a member of the following projects: Horizon Europe TransformDairyNet, SRIA Agroecology TEDY, the LIFT and EU-LI-PHE COST Actions etc. RDIB owns an Experimental Farm managing over 200 cattle and has access to commercial ruminant farms (beef and dairy cattle, water buffaloes, sheep, and goats).
