We are interested in cooperating with European partners active in poultry health surveillance, environmental microbiology and antimicrobial resistance research. In particular, we seek collaboration with public research institutes, veterinary authorities and reference laboratories to jointly develop and harmonise preventive surveillance tools applicable across different poultry production systems.
Cooperation with partners experienced in epidemiology, data integration and socio-economic assessment is also of interest, to ensure that the proposed sentinel-based approach is scalable, policy-relevant and aligned with sustainable farming practices.
Our organisation is a public veterinary research institute operating within the national animal health system, with statutory responsibilities in animal health surveillance, diagnostics and applied research. It supports competent authorities through scientific expertise in the prevention and control of animal infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance monitoring and risk assessment in livestock production systems.
The institute combines laboratory-based research with field activities, enabling the integration of microbiological, epidemiological and management data. It has long-standing experience in national and European research projects and contributes to harmonised surveillance frameworks aligned with EU animal health and welfare policies.
